I think the 5 sec duration might be good, since you'd have to bring a cancel stance if it was longer.....Imagine, a pve disaster...the entire team fleeing from a possible wipe but one ranger left behind....

LoL, yea, I tend to keep Dodge or Whirling on my skill bar with most builds, so it works as a cancel stance for flail if it ever gets in the way even if that's not the primary purpose of having another stance on my bar.

The main paragon skill I like on my Ranger is Remedy signet.

It has 1/2 the cast time of antidote sig and 1/2 the recharge time.

1 sec cast, 4 sec recharge

Fight through those blind bots with it gentlemen. Get the blind off before surge recharges thatn distracting shot the next surge.

Slowly working it into my PvP builds

Natural Stride fits the spot of cancel stance really well, and it recharges quickly so it's possible to use it repeatedly during an engagement if the need should arise.

That'll probably work just as well--use Anthem of Flame before using a pet attack.

I've actually seen a few R/P in PvP, and none in PvE so far. I just started a R/P variant on the Pack Hunter for PvE, and so far I like it. Me + Koss own everything.

As said in another thread, I really think you don't need a cancel stance with Flail. You would only need to cancel it, as a ranger, if your whole party is wipped out - or at least if things are going very bad. But generally it doesn't happen in 2 secs - you can see that coming. So if you see your team mates are low in health and you may have to run, just don't recast Flail - after all it lasts only 5 secs...

^Very true.

I would still suggest it if you were using Frenzy (which I do unless I'm playing barrage).

one thing i find hard when i tried to make me a R/P...

most paragon skills are 10+ energy costers... how do you guys compensate that? and most of the shouts chants don't have a duration sustainable to keep them up...

so... how?

^ Really the only thing a R/P is going to use is Attack skills or adrenaline based skills from the paragon side. Attack skillls are reduced by expertise and adrenaline skills come quickly (assuming you are using an IAS). You'd need to shy away from the energy shouts/echos etc.

Paragon attack skills are also cheaper with expertise?? that is very nice to know

but by attack skills....you mean Spear Mastery related skills? if you mean that...it doesn't work for me anyway.... i like to use bow...

I don't remember what exact numbers I ran with but it had at least 6 command and 16 marks, and a good amount of expertise. I can't get on GW to check right nwo though. This build is really fun to play with, especially with 2 other R/P hero henchies with similar builds.
I have been using that build in tombs too, does a nice amount of damage with the shouts. But I dropped "Find their Weaknesses" since the energy req of 10 is abit too high unless you use a zealous bow.

Here's a fun AB build which works very well - Spearchucka (with video)
http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forum...d.php?t=430587

The only difference in the usage from the posted version is that now I use a minor expertise rune in the mask for 590 starting hp.

Just a quick update, the more I use this build, the more I love it. It takes quite a lot of concentration to use effectively, but then again most good builds do.

Just got her Ascended, didn't even change her skill bar for fighting her mirror image, just laid into it and killed it in under 10 seconds with over 1/2 health remaining.
